Why are politicians in America so stupid these days?

Its a mix of corruption and the fact that our voters are becoming increasingly stupid (see our rankings in education/ general knowledge). I am sorry, but it will more likely keep getting worse and worse...but try not to think too poorly of us; most are stupid, but good people.
