Dyed my hair and hate the color?

I dyed my hair a deep auburn (my friend picked it out for me) and I personally think it looks horrible, my natural hair color is a dirty blonde, but I've dyed my hair a lot, it's been blonde, brown, black, purple, blue and red and this is the first hair color I don't like it just makes me look paler :S..how long before I can redye it? or is there any way I can fade the color and make is lighter? What color would you sugest I recolor it to fade the auburn? Thanks!!
